Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
I think the cleanest option is to assume South African investors bought all club's players and staff and the club became Brakpan Ducks after that. From a NZBRU point of view, they should have kept their trophies in their cabinet, including the Log o' Wood until their next unsuccessful defense.

Nearly everyone who is active in the NZ community has voted.
Just waiting on @gimping and @donkeysaint
@tryasta would you be able to get the code working quickly? Or would it be a long term project? I'm happy to slowly do it manually.

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
I am afraid it needs to wait. I believe in 4 hrs of coding I must have it done, but the issue is that I need to find those 4 hrs. I normally code those things during the weekend, but we have http://www.festivaldesjeux-cannes.com/ starting today, so it is doubtful I can start this week.
There are other things that I want to code:
- improve the lineout study
- stamina and bot games
- Ranfurly Shield
but I never find the time to do them :S
If you can wait a couple weeks I'll have it.

My opinion: Give it to Hercufleas.

@tryasta
I will let you do it when you can.
It looks like its between option 3 & 4.
Do @Simon71 and @donkeysaint wish to re-cast their vote to one of those options?

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
Ok, guys, I finished the java program to get the list of Ranfurly Shield games (turns out we spent only one morning in the Festival des Jeux and I had some free time in the afternoon/evening).
Here you can see an example of what it is like. I have introduced the game Razor lost against the Foxton Foxes as the starting point. Apparently I previously oversaw a Ranfurly Challenge as early as three games into the list, so most of what I wrote in the website is false.
Because of Jolly Roger Crew's domination, starting from S30 R9 league, both lists converge.
At the end of S31R14 the program does not know that Jolly Roger Crew left NZ, so it keeps the track of each Cup and league game they have played in SA.
What I can do is, when we have a decision on who gets the Log o' Wood at the end of S31, I run the program with that information, but for now, you can check the list in the link above.

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
I think I can make an executive decision that this is now a two horse race.
Hercufleas
Awarded to the best S31 team (excluding JRC) for his 2nd place in both I.1 and Cup - based on how the real life Shield was originally first awarded.
Votes = 1
Okaiawa
Previous holder prior to JRC gets it back.
Votes = 1
Brakpan Ducks (bot)
Pretend that the holder Jolly Roger Crew became the bot team instead of swapping with an overseas bot team.
Votes = 3
Broad Spur Suns
Re-starting like it originally began in BR S1 with the first Cup fixture of S32.
Votes = 5

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
With that it looks like option 4 is the winner.
@tryasta it's up to you now. Whenever you have the time of course.

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
ok, so the idea is that at the start of S32 the title holder is Broad Spur Suns, and the first BRRS fixture is http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/tools.live.scoring.php#fixture=16996769...

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
Here is the updated sheet taking The Broad Spur Suns as Ranfurly Shield holder at the start of S32.
Please, double check all is ok, as the program might need some tweaking / debugging and it is relatively new

Yep. I've put the log o' wood in Valley Vikings cabinet. Tag the current holder in your post and let him know if he wants to keep it he'll have to win home league and cup games.

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
No, you shouldn't have, because you had other important stuff to do. Like planning for and communicating about NZ U20 games, updating the NZI website, looking into line-out statistics, organising S38 scouting, and taking care of your own clubs. And all that after being a good husband, father and doing what ever you do for work in southern France.
So, thank you, for all that, and for taking care of the Ranfurly Shield too, so that we can challenge for it in the future!

I agree with donkeysaint, there was no real panic. Tbh if I'd won it on Saturday I'd have only had it for four days anyway
