Re: Season 28 Discussion
Won't it be smaller than the 50k?
From the docs - 'The cup final is played at the national stadium with no home ground advantage for either side. Attendance will be normal 'Final' attendance regardless of the extra capacity. '

Re: Season 28 Discussion
in my cup final with chewy in season 26, we managed 49k attendance. Looking at my financial history, cup profit sharing was $308k (i.e. we recieved that amount each as profit)

Re: Season 28 Discussion
You're right Rob, I never even checked. Just checked the last few seasons and it HAS been profit-sharing. I know that it was a clean 200k before, never noticed the change. Last season I got 270k. I suppose it'll be about the same. I'll have about 3610 members.

4000... I don't know what calculator you work off mate.
I thought about increasing it but going down from div I and having some average contentment, plus playing guys with much lower membership I don't always full out the 33k I have.

Re: Season 28 Discussion
I thought the standard formula was capacity = alpha * members?
with alpha being between 8.5 and 9.5?
Taking the most conservative value gives me a stadium of 36500+ for 4300 members. So at least +3500 to the 33K you have.
Am I missing anything?

Yeah, I think that's the accepted number. It always seemed high to me though. I tend to stick below the lower end of that and often don't sell out.
I always wanted to do a study (and eventually a calculator), that could take into account expected contentment along with your member size and growth and come up with a stadium size suggestion for your team. I collected some data right after the fix to the standing seats bug but it wasn't quite enough.

I think times members by 9 is expecting some big growth. Have always gone between 8 to 8.25.

Re: Season 28 Discussion
i gave up trying to use a calculator....these days i go with the formula of "is my stadium selling out"..if yes "then increase it" at a rate of "well lets have a look at everyone elses stadium and see where what seats they are filling up"...
....the formula was working out brilliantly until i had the biggest stadium...

Re: Season 28 Discussion
9x or even 9.5x can be okay but it comes down to contentment. If Brentton promotes back up he could expand his stadium. However if he goes up, and then back down straight away his contentment will be terrible and won't sell out his stadium, and lose lots of money.

Well, his side is a bit overpowered for division three. I guess the plan is to leave the side good enough to win the league and use the! money saved to buy some new players next season for division two.

A successful Ranfurly Shield challenge by Hercufleas United. Sparker lost the Log' o Wood after 12 successful defenses since Season 27 R8
Congratulations, Rob. Next challenger is chewy in the 12th round of League I.1

Re: Season 28 Discussion
With the U20 match on this morning, I totally forgot about league matches. I had a match against my main league rival and was going to LTNT but forgot to set the orders. Luckily, the Normal did the business and I came away with the win. #notsohumblebrag

nice surprise...i was clueless that this was a challenge...i sent out a very rare league pltnt as a win/loss result could have had a direct bearing on finishing 2nd or 4th.

Re: Season 28 Discussion
Wouldn't mind some Monday friendlies for my affiliates: Mint Julep and the Economists.
Don't mind mismatches. Just after the sweet, sweet IGT.
Edit: Economists have a game thanks to razorbladeYfronts. Still after a game for Mint Julep.
Edit: All done.

Re: Season 28 Discussion
It's a shame the final isn't being played at Joll Park as it would be a real homecoming Sid Wylam/ would give me a chance of getting within 20 points.
I'm sure he will enjoy putting on a show and most likely scoring more individual points than my team total.
