NZI Discussion
OK Guys - fixtures for Round 1 have been created (again) as I'd mixed up the seeding initially.
I'm getting there with automating the fixture creation - god that'll be sweet

Re: NZI Discussion
Thoughts from the public - what should happen if a fixture cannot be created as designed due to one of the teams having a conflict?
If it's already an Anytime fixture (as specified by one or both teams) but one of the teams has a scheduling conflict (they already have a fixture overlapping 7:35pm Thursday BRT)?
If it's a Thursday fixture (neither team requested Anytime fixtures) but either team has another Thursday fixture already there? Try an anytime fixture? what if neither team is premium?

Re: NZI Discussion
If it's an anytime then perhaps just change the time.
If it's a thursday that can't be made then the team with a thursday already loses HGA if they were to play at home, that is if one team has premium, otherwise I imagine they team with a clash defaults

Re: NZI Discussion
Is this conflicting match a friendly?
Maybe the team who has the other match scheduled has the option to cancel the friendly that they prob shouldn't have accepted or made or default on the nzi match.
If nothing at all can be done, maybe a draw would be ok but then some managers could do this all the time so that wont be helpful.
Or if there is a conflict in a week that team (premium or not) may have an anytime option.
just throwing some ideas, good or not

Re: NZI Discussion
Cheers guys - it's all a bit touch and go with how it's handled by the automated system until Bren or I take over manually.
Current process is:
- Thursday fixture (neither team has requested Anytime Fixtures) - if either team is Premium then attempt anytime fixture at 2:35pm BRT; if neither team is Premium or timing not possible (a team has another fixture at that time - fail to manual intervention
- Anytime Fixture - retry at 2:35pm - if not possible (as above) - fail to manual intervention.
I'm trying to avoid TOO MUCH automated retrying.
Once it fails to manual intervention then I'll need to judge the situation on its merits and either get a fixture compromised or else the team causing the conflict defaults the match and their opposition gains a bonus-point win.
How does that sound?

Re: NZI Discussion
Yeah that sounds good, seems like the conflicts would come from a friendly so I agree with the default.

Re: NZI Discussion
Yea looks good Pantherus, in my opinion if someone wishes to enter the nzi it should be up to them to keep their schedule clear in order to allow you to create the fixtures, so teams causing conflicts probably deserve to lose by default

Re: NZI Discussion
Rob ain't too tough. Last time I looked his player's exp wasn't particularly high. You should be able to get a try.
I've got the Piss Artists who are decent, but I should be able to account for them. Due to selling a few good forwards I've got the worse ruck rating (8') I've had for many a season

Wow, tackling was definitely optional in my game against Green Bay Gremlins. Final score 52-50.

Bloody good I managed two tries, and also managed to deny him a bonus point!
Did you get him sparky?

Re: NZI Discussion
down 7 - 31 half time to a team 114k better csr average ended up going down 35 - 38 somehow. Close but no cigar. Was expecting a flogging both on normal

Went down 57-12 to Binge drinking as expected, was down 43-0 at half time though so a positive was that I stopped the bleeding I guess

Re: NZI Discussion
great game Simon, 28-12 is a very respectable scoreline given the difference in CSR. Sparky is right...my players experience is on the low side...I have been learning over these last few seasons how major the experience factor is! (just look at how well chewys old men muppets have done over the last 2 seasons in League One despite a relatively low CSR)
