Just a throwaway line. It is the chat after all. However I do recall that you got Jason Treasure for a very good price. I had my eye on him but didn't get around to bidding on him.

Does NZ have a moonshine? Never been there and only ever spoken to NZers about your shite beer but I'd imagine there'd be some sort of pioneer liquor.

A restaurant I used to work for brewed its own whiskey. The restaurant's only been open for a year so it's pretty nasty.
But, lots of moonshine would have been produced during NZ's prohibition era (shudder) -- http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/keyword/prohibition
The Hokonui Distillery dates back to pre-prohibition, it operated illegally during the prohibition era, and still operates (legally) today.

Hokonui is the only NZ Moonshine I've ever heard of. I don't know if there was a North Island version? Most Scots settled in the south of the South Island.

Quick question. does form affect kicking? Using my example does old mate with 15 kicking on primo form go better than trev with 16 kicking on shite form?

Form affects kicking. I'd probably choose the form player out of those two.

Go for old mate over Trev. Assuming their stamina, exp, and energy are all identical.

Great page that, very interesting! You can imagine the husband coming home just before seven all pissed and narky, then either falling asleep with no food or sobering up and getting that dry headache and beating the missus around until bedtime.

Only if you're not the first one there on the night! (Slurp)
Hard to see if there will be any real actions about this but womens' groups around NZ and Oz have been gaining power recently, but it also seems the "lady" has a bit of a rep around Hamilton.

Thought I'd move this to the chat. razorbladeYfronts wrote:No snus?
Nope not any longer. I actually had my last snus on the night my twins were born. I had promised their mother I would quit when we had kids? Worse timing ever, you might think? On the contrary.
I remember reading about two historical instances when people had stopped using drugs on a large scale, seemingly without much problem..
The first one was in China during the 19th century. The British, worried about their negative trade balance with China, decided to start large poppy plantations in India and Afghanistan to sell opium to the Chinese (thus kickstarting the booming Afghan drug idustry that provides the world with 90% of its heroin today, fueling the war and the Taliban. Ironically, fighting that drug industry has been put forward as one of the goals of the ongoing war. Even more ironically, the only year that the Afghan opium production was halted, more or less, was 2001 after the Taliban regime decided to try and stop it. They have become slightly more pragmatic after being toppled ).
Anyway, large parts of the Chinese population became drug addicts and the British made tons of money. After the emperor decided to ban it and the British fought two successful wars to win back the right to push drugs, all in the name of free trade, the opium usage finally diminished.
The other instance was when US servicemen returned home from Vietnam, after having used all sorts of drugs for a year or so.
The point was that large and dramatic changes in your life can provide you with an opportunity to break bad habits. It worked, I have never used snus since. Now to get some sleep.
For others reading this: Snus isn't heroin, but rather a tobacco product that you stick under your lip, used mainly in Scandinavia.

But you will take it again, we all know that. Yummy yummy, go on treat yourself, you deserve it, just this one time!

Not heroin, but very close to cocaine or at least speed (I hear), the first time I took it was a huge buzz, a few others couldn't handle it at all. Saliva snorkling with it is great fun though, until you swallow it and start wondering how much more effect it will have in your small intestine.

Question: You know the way the Welsh (steroids be upon them), the Irish (sleep be upon them), The Scots (warmth be upon them) etc. have a thing about the Ingerlish? How does it relate to how the Kiwis think about the creatures to the West?

I resemble that remark (though not currently). Myself and most of my NZ friends have a bigger rivalry with England than Aus, but other kiwis (like chewy) would prefer to beat Aussie over England.
