(Repost from the BR forum)

I open this thread for all to discuss about what to do in season 29. In season 28 my inexperience and the fact that I was appointed journalist only in week 4 (ok, it was mainly my inexperience, but that's hugely embarrassing so I look for extra excuses) forced me to react to the CCs instead of acting.

That means we accepted basically what was on offer in CCs.

I want to improve things this time around and I want to start early.

I have several ideas in mind. And I would like as much feedback as possible to have a clear view of what we all prefer.

Idea 1.- North Island vs South Island. 15 teams north vs 15 teams south. New Zealand trophy.

Idea 2.- Bledisloe Cup. Australia have told us they are keen to repeat the Bledisloe Challenge we lost in S27. I told them we would give them an answer

Idea 3.- Tri Nations. 28 teams New Zealand, 28 teams South Africa, 28 teams Australia. We play 14 matches against South African teams and 14 matches against Aussie teams. Australia and South Africa do likewise. Trophy only for the winner community on aggregate points.

Idea 4.- New Zealand Provincial Challenge. 22 regions, 2 (or 3, depending on signed teams) teams per region. Swiss system competition for 4 rounds (R15D1, R15D4, R16D1, R16D4) and the region with more aggregate points at the end of the 4 rounds becomes the winner. Probably some extra prizes should be possible: second, third, top scorer...

Idea 5.- Back to the tried and tested. We look for some community. We challenge, etc...

Please, managers, express your preferences, points of view, own ideas Smile

Problem with option 4 is that it requires a Monday friendly in R15D1, same week as the play offs. Not many teams would like to sacrifice energy at that point. It also uses up all the CC slots, meaning we can't have any other CC:s.

I say options 1 and 3 would be the best combo. That means we also do not use the R16D1 Monday friendly slot. Having a Mondat friendly CC right after the play offs with energy taken into account is IMO not a good basis for competitive games.
