So 4 weeks to go ... in II.3 16 pts. separates 1st and 8th place....

Its close alright, all four bottom placed teams had wins over the weekend

Were you in the div 2 league that was ludicrously close last season?

Yea same league, its even closer this year though because all 8 teams are close whereas last year the bottom two and top two were well clear

Yep this was how it turned out last time. Hard to image it could it finish any closer this season.

in case people missed it (which i suggest is just about all of us)....a notable occurence has occured in the NZ BR scene....

for the first time, in what, 10 seasons? The Millenium Falcons no longer have the First XV with the highest CSR average!

As of last week, this was the case for League One

Hercufleas United 319,327

Of course CSR is not everything, though i thought it was quite a milestone to see the Falcons no longer holding that CSR top spot.

For the record, this is how it looked in Round 1 of this season for those above teams...

aargh rage quit

all my team had to do to make the playoffs was deny the Falcons a 4 try bonus point....so 80 minutes is up, im losing but the Falcons only have 3 tries...i have the ball and know that any extra points would achieve me nothing....but i spend the next 4 minutes of extra time running the ball up....why didn't they kick it out or knock it bl@&y on!

so any, after 84 minutes the Falcons managed to win the ball off me with a penalty....then opt for a scrum! so a scrum is set at the 84th minute and they score their freakin 4th try and im out of the playoffs....grrr.

so.....surely the match engine ought to recognise that i shoudl have killed the ball after 80 mins to secure my playoff spot? and....can a scrum be set in the 84th minute (even if from winning a penalty?)...will make a bug report anyway on that first point...

Highs and lows at the end of this season, autorelegating but I have a new record high ranking of 30th in nz, not bad for a team of battlers!

Huge Wednesday night in BR with the U20WC happening with some huge games and also the league semi finals.

In my division WuhC v Foxes looks like a match that could go either way.

Sadly in Div I both Rob and Matt seem to have thrown their semi's meaning a Chewy v Sparker final coming on Saturday.

They both Ltnt last Saturday to make the finals so they were on the back foot pretty much.

Lol my team did an up and under in my opponents in goal, at least I scored otherwise that would have been a shambles

sorry, im not there....it was a bugger about matt...he really didn't need to play the Hopefools with a PLTNT, which really screwed him for the semis....

I finished 5th so i got me a promotion/relegation game to worry about....

well done though to chewy and sparker....so will that be 3 finals in a row you guys are playing each other?

Calling all tactical and BR experts!

There is a team in my league III.8 called Warwooville. This season they have gone 13-1 to lead the league. This is despite having an average 1st XV CSR of only 164K. They are only 4th in terms of CSR and 50K+ CSR behind myself and another team.

Is the guy a tactical genius? Does the fact he has an older experienced team account for it all? Did he just get lucky all season?
I am mainly wondering in case he has found some magic potion that we could use more widely for NATs etc.

I wouldn't say genius. With such great experience he has just as good if not better stars than everyone else in the league.

My final is Ulysses riders vs myself for the 4th straight season. Please let this be the season I auto promote to division 1, it will most likely be my final chance

its all about money. The jump from 3rd to 5th is enough to tnt the final league game and save energy for the bronze playoff.

I can't believe it, I've never lost to my opponent ever and now in the final where I am above the auto promote line I'm getting well beaten.

I've continued my yo-yo between Div I and II for the third time in a row. Could I possibly dream of getting 5th or 6th this time around
