Anyone remember what the Falcons record streak was? In the low 30s?

Hmmm. It could take a while but we could slowly build up from the Herc vs Vandernators game. Since only League and Cup games count and they are archived away. i.e. League and Cup. (is it true with the Cup counting? I'm not too sure now)

Season 5
S05R02 League (21/3/09) Vandernators lose to Hercufleas United 10-13
S05R03 Cup (25/3/09) Hercufleas United defeat Sparker 33-18 (1 defense)
S05R03 League (28/3/09) Hercufleas United lose to Green Eagles 3-20
S05R04 Cup (1/4/09) Green Eagles defeat Burnside Badgers 57-0 (1 defense)
S05R04 League (4/4/09) Green Eagles defeat Cullenators 29-21 (2 defenses)
S05R05 Cup (8/4/09) Green Eagles defeat Glendowie 2nd 15 53-7 (3 defenses)
S05R07 League (25/4/09) Green Eagles defeat Vandernators 38-34 (4 defenses)
S05R08 Cup (28/4/09) Green Eagles lose to Magratheans 21-38
S05R09 Cup (6/5/09) Magratheans lose to Hautapu Hopefools 18-27
S05R10 League (16/5/09) Hautapu Hopefools defeat Realism Ravens 47-14 (1 defense)
S05R13 League (6/6/09) Hautapu Hopefools defeat Vandernators 34-8 (2 defenses)

Hautapu Hopefools hold the Shield after Season 5. Teams in italics, I'm not too sure about their name -- took it from their history.

Hey. thanks Robelix, thanks Bren.

I think I will go from there little by little rebuilding the whole Ranfurly Shield history... I would be really glad if from time to time you could point out an error here or there. It will take time but I hope I will eventually have it done.

After Sparker's successful defense against New Lynn Red Sox, the next challenge will be provided by Melville RFC on S28 R7 in League I.1

Hautapu Hopefools News

The nearly season
Tuesday 30 June 2009, 1:40am
It was a good season for the Hopefools but it could have been so much better.

In the positive column they won the Balshaw Cup for the second time and managed to successfully challenge for the coveted ranfurly shield, which is still safely in the trophy cabinet.

Thanks, robelix. That's useful to do sanity checks to the manual, arid, arduous process of looking what's the next RS game and check what were the names of the teams...

Now I need to check what season was "30 June 2009" Smile [...some seconds...]

It seems it was the end of season 5. The challenges are already (and apparently they are correct) shown here.

Getting up to date after coming back from vacations. I start with a favourite of mine: The Log O' Wood.

Melville RFC managed to successfully defend the Shield 4 times before Intelijunt Dezine took it away from them in round 5 with their 20-44 victory.

Here is all the info updated to S29 R6.

@Pantherus I think you have the power to assign the Ranfurly Shield in razor's cabinet?

Thanks guys! Screenshot taken!

It's an honour to have something every team in NZ covets, for however short I might have it. It's easy to forget how much these things would matter to a good head sometimes, too easy. Cool

That is correct. Sparker won it from Foxton Foxes after Foxton Foxes won it from Intelijunt Dezine, who had previously defeated Melville and got the Shield.

Here is the History

Here is the current holder, number of successful defenses and the next challenge: Hercufleas, next challenger.

Cup finals are played at the national stadium and therefore neutral ground. Foxes still have it.

Sorry Rob. My bad. Didn't know the Cup final was played at a Neutral Venue. It seems the Log Of Wood will remain in League II.1 for the remainder of the season.

Funny though, in theory it's possible it may never get back to the top division. Foxes have to lose in the playoffs though, but if they do all it takes is to get drawn away to a Div.1 team and lose and the circle goes on and on (won't happen though, they'll promote).
