BR Ranfurly Shield
this has been put into FROGS cabinet now. I guess we have lost all the stats for past holders. I know Nands has the record and I hold second place( a long distance behind)
17 defences is what I had.

Two reckless players cost you the game at the death.
Not particularly surprising when 6 out of 8 of your starting pack are reckless - it is an unorthodox strategy I'll give you that. Should have never sold Recbar and Biamonte

What are we up to with your 1st defense losses now Robelix?
On a side note I am actual number 1 in the world.

yeah, I didn't really plan on having so many reckless players...its just the way it ended up...
im okay with having sold Recber and Biamonte. their replacements are much better players....Rheem and Verdue. Though the plan was that once I sold Recber and Biamonte I would use the cash to bolster my backline...though I haven't managed that yet as the TM has dried up quite a bit. Hopefully I can stay in the cup long enough for the next bot TM drop...
almost got away with a wnwim versus Excelsiors Normal. I had gambled that with me having home and energy advantage he may played it easy with a wnwim also...

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
A couple of questions:
a) do we have the Ranfurly Shield past History recorded anywhere?
b) who's currently the holder of the Log'O Wood?
(bonus question)
Would you be keen to have a website to keep track of the Ranfurly Shield? i.e. track of games, number of successful defenses, etc?

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
We had a really detailed history on the old offsite but was lost when that site disappeared off the internet.
Looks Like Sparker lost it to Hercufleas United http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/tools.live.scoring.php#fixture=14364078 (Season 27; Round 5)
He lost it to Excelsior. http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/tools.live.scoring.php#fixture=14818240 (Season 28; Round 1)
Who lost it to Melville RFC last weekend. http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/tools.live.scoring.php#fixture=14818255
Next game will be against Monkey Nuts tomorrow. http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/tools.live.scoring.php#fixture=14818258

Where can I get all the info for the Log' O wood?
For example, are anytime friendlies taking into account for a successful Shield defense as long as the holder is the home team?
How can I backtrack its history?
For a start, perhaps you would like to see this

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
Only League and Cup games count. Friendlies/finals don't.
Tracking back would be nearly impossible. I don't even remember what the basis of the first game was unfortunately and the history gets a bit spotty with a lot of the early holders going bot. You can't track its history by going backwards.
I think the best that can be done is just track the "Modern Era" of the Shield.
Thanks to Chewy, we know that the FRuity Oenological Gastronomes held it when the old offsite when dark so you could start tracking from that point on.
Losing the Ranfurly Shield history was the worst thing to come out of the disappearance of the old offsite in my opinion.

im pretty sure the first ranfurly shield game was determined between 2 bots team...when the very first cup draw was made, it was the first fixture listed.

When did that happen in terms of BR seasons and rounds? I'll re-do the history to have them all listed since the moment we old offsite was lost.

There must be something wrong, because Hercufleas United lost in S27 R8 to Sparker http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/tools.live.scoring.php#fixture=14364090 so he could not have lost it to Excelsior in S28 R1

Re: BR Ranfurly Shield
You're right - missed that. Sorry Chewy, Sparker must still have the shield.
But yeah, home games only are defenses. A draw means the holding team retains the Shield. A team has to win an away game to win the Shield off another team. Cup finals are played on neutral ground so don't count.
Based on the earlier posts in this thread, this must have been the match where Hercufleas United won the Shield off the FRuity Oenological Gastronomes.

The 21st of August 2015 (timestamp of Chewy's first post) corresponds to the start of Season 26.
