No, you're a foreign team so all fixtures should be played away

everyone seems to have my number in the NZI....
I think everyone has their tactics set out to goad me into giving away penalties...

You've still got to sort out your rucking rob. Losing the turnover count 7-3 and "winning" the penalties conceded count  18-5 against me was pretty terrible, and you'll always struggle if that was a normal situation for your team. Aggression choices with player tech and discipline are the obvious things but also look at weight too - you gave me a 100kg advantage in the pack and 13kgs per player. Bigger is always better in the BR world.

Re: [S31] NZI banter
yes, it is a real Achilles heel when teams actively try to exploit my reckless behaviour - any suggestions on what tactics I could try?
I generally go for by the book....but I can still get punished in the penalties/turnovers when teams play against my reckless style (I wonder what they actually do? some decent png with normal/aggressive discipline?
im trialling a few things lately...like kicking for territory from my own half more often....on occasions where I have played my aggressive discipline, I really suffer against teams who play btb...If I try to tactics that avoid my forwards too much, then I don't get to build much pressure and get few line-breaks...

Re: [S31] NZI banter
Playing BTB won't be of much use if people can maul you off the park. You will concede penalties anyway.
To avoid that:
1.- get better disciplined players
2.- max up their technique (you can't really overestimate the importance of this)
3.- beef up your forward pack. Buy them McDonald's premium subscriptions or things like that.
Regarding tactics: if you need to play BTB to avoid giving penalties away, then you are left with only risky choices.
In defense: you don't want to play drift + BTB. It is not a good combination. Trust me, it is not. In theory, these two could work well as you keep your line unbroken and wait one phase after another for the opponent to concede penalties. In reality, with 3 or 4 phases, the amount of conceded ground is so big that you are already defending inside your 22 and the opponent can either score or you will kick it out and he will start over again.
Therefore in defense you need to consider rushing them if you are to play BTB. Playing rush requires having both a very very very good stamina and a good defense. You also need good subs as well.
In attack you will either give penalties away or play BTB and lose possession. Therefore you want to play high risk tactics. You need to be the master of creative. Creative is interesting because of both the probability of linebreak and because of the amount of meters gained being greater than with any other attack type.
I personally do not recommend kicking the ball out/away. Especially if your discipline is bad.

Tryasta makes some good suggestions. The btb button isn't some magical instant-fix for bad discipline forwards and/or players with poor tech.

Re: [S31] NZI banter
my technique isn't actually all that bad...from players 1-8 it is 18, 19, 19, 17, 17, 20, 18, 20.
good advice on the btb...will be taking that on board I know I have way too many reckless players, but it is difficult to get rid of them and bring in better disciplined players. my goal will be to let the reckless players slowly disappear and make sure their replacements are much better disciplined! (doesn't help that my 2 x u20 players are both reckless)

Re: [S31] NZI banter
Remember: ill disciplined backs are not nearly as bad as ill disciplined forwards. The priority are loosies, front rowers and locks, in that order.

But can your backs ruck? One of mine can't (7 tech) but the rest are 12-16.

Yeah pretty average I'd guess. That would turn the attention back onto your reckless forwards and aggression tactics.

Re: [S31] NZI banter
anyway....another week, another NZI loss....
tried to play more aggressively...which worked well in the first half (lead 20-9)...but ended up losing 27-25 (overall, lost the penalties 17-9, won the turnovers 8-3).
I think I would do a lot better with a massive lock, as im losing the set pieces way too much....I think my loss in form ties in with the loss of Nasoni Whakapapa...(even though he was rebellious)

Re: [S31] NZI banter
PMs send and post made in the clubrooms. Now we sit back and watch the sign ups roll in. Sign ups close in 2 weeks or so.
NOTE: Only 1 team per manager is allowed this season. It makes it easier to sort the teams into tiers.
