Season 33 General Discussion
What does Season 33 hold for you?
If you've been reading the news you'll notice a very interesting announcement:
The narrow pyramid will really shake things up in Div 2 and 3 so now might be the time to sell off a few old players to save money for the future, or buy in some good players to make a push for the top of your league. Then there is the promise of a new game next year however progress updates are mysteriously absent.

My thoughts exactly. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, though.
Regardless of that, as long as Bren keeps being absent, I'm aiming for my league II.2 title this season, and perhaps a Top-50 ranking..

I hope to win a league match.... I think I am currently the most overrated team in the world. On the plus side trainees will get alot of minutes.

@donkeysaint, ivelostmysparky : The same thought came to my mind when I read the announcement: you don't implement this (and say this is going to take 1 full season to implement) if you expect that in season 34 you'll be launching the new game version.
I don't expect the new version before season 36 at least.

Re: Season 33 General Discussion
Yeah with only 3 months to go I was expecting some screenshots to see how the game might look. Or failing that, comments about what has been changed with the ME, or other ideas like changing player's skills (e.g. speed split into pace & acceleration, kicking into goal kicking and punting, addition of other skills like playmaking/vision).
So yeah not really sure that to do with my club. Last season and this season were going to be the final hurrah...but I will want to stop buying old players if the new game isn't going to be ready for a while. Very annoying for a meticulous long-term planner like me who was aiming to peak now after taking a low-key approach for the last 10 seasons.

Re: Season 33 General Discussion
@ivelostmysparky: I had decided not to further expand my stadium at 30000, thinking the investment would not be returned by the gates income by Christmas 2017. However, due to the lack of updates on a bigger vision I decided to spend $500,000 in expansion. Luckily for me, that money seems to be well spent as the new pyramid stuff means the game will probably go on for a couple of seasons.

Not exactly because I have a number of ~25yos with average experience. They will certainly be better with time.donkeysaint wrote:Aren't you already? Peaking?
@tryasta how big are you going? I'll have 45k in a few weeks.

I am upgrading to 34000 places. Anything above that figure would not be a good idea, as I only have 4000 members.

I like to stand up to the stumps when the medium pacers are operating.

Re: Season 33 General Discussion
Had an epic win over the weekend, heart in the mouth stuff, even contemplated WNWIMing as I thought I had no chance of winning!
Took the game in the 77th minute with converted try to win 37-32
Also on the plus side, gaining 200 members per week, looks like I will make it out of the red by round 6 at the latest, then I can start replacing all my oldies with new oldies!

You think you can defeat Sparker on his home soil?
No big name purchases from the last bot TM sales?

Re: Season 33 General Discussion
tumbleweeds move not because of wind... but because they are afraid of sheriff Rob
in a different topic, I defeated The Defeatables by 49-19 after 15 unsusccessful attempts. This proves:
- Gordy Booth has taken some time learning from master Yoda.
- No one beats Patea Maori club 16 times in a row

he usually has the better of me, but last weekends league victory has given me some hope....funny the results you can get when you play random desperate tactics!
he absolutely killed me with turnovers (21) with very little return (13 penalties gained)....so I am worried that will occur again....its seems to be a the ploy that you use so well against me....
yep, missed out on any bot drop purchases...could really have done with one ringer....
anyway, hope to be meeting you in the final sparky...seems you are a shoe in
