Re: Season 29 Discussion
I knew I was pushing it with that LTNT should do the trick just fine provided your default lineup and tactics are adequate.

sigh, yes.....the only way i know how to get out of it is to slowly them pahse them out with newer younger players...it has been quite the burden, has tied up some of my tactics somewhat...i ended up with the problem with opportunistic purchases, many of those reckless/rebellious forwards were bought at good prices thta i couldn't resist...

A Ltnt all round fest!!
cheers for another beating chewy, i did notice that crowd number, that was quite something...and yes, that disallowed try did seem like the pivotal point. i was just gaining momentum and i thought that try was gonna lay the platform for me to take it fully away from you, but....well never mind.
good luck in the final v sparker, you both are building quite a record in league one with how many consecutive finals now? this must be 5?

You don't, I'm just saying - the crowd should be bigger for that match

Shit, only down 3 points against Chewy in the North-South challenge. WHAT THE HECK.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
Oh no - that was really stupid play by Cloutman! There was no need for him to take the law into his own hands and take a pop at that Direwolf Straits player...The penalty's been reversed!
COME ON HUGO. GET THAT PENALTY. MAKE IT EVEN.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
Maidment has lost position in the Direwolf Straits defensive line and he can't stop Cloutman easing outside him! Four or five Green And Reds players are up in support as Cloutman glides upfield after the break. There's Mitchell and Bean! One, no two quick passes are made, and now Mitchell has it on the outside... A little burst of acceleration is enough to beat Tuimavave, now he flips a pass back over his shoulder back into Bean! Miracle ball! I don't think there's anyone left to stop Bean now! It's a try! Bean finishes his run straight in between the goal posts, touches the ball down, and throws himself into the front rank of waiting Melville Hard supporters beyond the dead ball line! The crowd is going wild!..........Murray says: "I would not say Bean is the best attacking player in this competition, but there are none better!" Melville RFC fans look up at the scoreboard at one end of the ground. It reads Melville RFC 31-Wolves 26 and there are tense but elated faces everywhere.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
Yeah my bad I started watching and then I saw a tighthead and then Cloutman breaking the line and setting up a try, and then van der Ven. Both ex Dutch NT players.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
For me, I turned on when the score was 8-20 I believe. Had to run back through the commentary to see what went wrong
Switched back in at 26-26 then saw the ol 5 minute burst of points. Unlucky Bren.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
Look at this. Last week I crumbled away against Macandrew Bay Thirds in the NZI, 38-3, losing the Gair Shield in the last round.
And now we faced each other in the North vs. South, me being away again. I realise I will likely lose, but adjust my tactics a little bit. And I end up winning 24-43! Only 4 tries to 3, so it was a tight game, but still! The odd-shaped ball, I guess..

Re: Season 29 Discussion
In II.2, looks like an easy win for Jolly Roger Crew over Linkin Hawk 15. Stallone hasn't logged in for a few weeks so Linkin Hawk will just be on a Normal.
Meanwhile, stars are looking good for me to take out the bronze final against the FROGs. I've never scored more than 3 points against them, so hoping today's a bit different.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
Got a nice win over the FROGs to come third in II.2 -- pretty pleased with that. I don't think I could have done better in my first season in division two. Not with Jolly Roger Crew and Linkin Hawk 15 in there as well. Guessing we should get WuhC falling down to replace Jolly Roger Crew. Should be interesting next season.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
Well, Rambo now needs to explain why you were not relegated...
Congrats bet. With Linkin Hawk and Jolly Roger Crew in the league, your third spot was really the best possible finish.

Re: Season 29 Discussion
In the end I lost my home final, 12-44. I guess the 163K vs. 241K CSR difference, as well as a slight form and exp disadvantage, was too great. At least I beat them once in the league.
Congratulations to everyone that did well, and to @Bren in particular. Avoiding relegation after a promotion isn't easy, ending up with the bronze is quite impressive!
