Re: Season 36 General Discussion
Fairburn got a hattrick before going off injured in the 35th minute.

Less than a half to in effect decide the game. What a star!

Re: Season 36 General Discussion
cheers lads.
yep, what a (less than half a) game by Fairbairn! not bad for a flanker come centre!
was worrisome when Ndemufayo went off...made all the worse when i realised i hadnt set up a replacement kicker properly. Clery's kicking is just "horrible"....could have been embarrasing if i lost due to missed kicks.
i think the midfield rush defence helped to ensure that sparker didnt build up lots of pressure from his driving play, i think that was a good strategy.

Re: Season 36 General Discussion
Fairburn appears to be some sort of wizard considering he scored 3 tries and got credited for 1 try assist in the 35 minutes he was on the field (got injured in the act of scoring). Which would be fine - except that only 3 tries were scored in the first half. Can you assist yourself in scoring?robelix wrote:cheers lads.

Next on the to-do list is moving Seedhouse into the backs...
Good thing kicking is overrated. Especially at halfbackrobelix wrote:was worrisome when Ndemufayo went off...made all the worse when i realised i hadnt set up a replacement kicker properly. Clery's kicking is just "horrible"....could have been embarrasing if i lost due to missed kicks.
I used 4x rush against sparker and lost 2 weeks ago.robelix wrote:i think the midfield rush defence helped to ensure that sparker didnt build up lots of pressure from his driving play, i think that was a good strategy.
Should do!robelix wrote:member contentment is Euphoric....can i break 50k attendance this weekend!

Dooley sells for $4M. Good business by Rob, but I'm a little scared of what much better players he'll buy with that money.

...cant imagine getting anyone new before the playoffs....the TM tends to go very quiet now....
but yep 4 mil was good. you never know with young locks....they can go for 3 mil or for a crazy 5 mil....was hoping for a little bit more, but 4 mil is still good.

Does anyone have more than 2 attack and defence level 5 coaches?

I have 3 of each. I know I'm overpaying but I can't be bothered fiddling around with sessions to make them fit.

I understand you fully. I also have a stamina trainer (of course!) and an idle kicking trainer.
He makes a great pot of coffee, though, and my seven trainers plus coach also provides me with maximum energy recovery. So worth it.

Your are doing well, Rob. No wonder you have managed to stay a top manager and club for so very long. I'm seeing why.

Re: Season 36 General Discussion
cheers donkeyman. whilst I have been able to maintain a decent CSR team for most of my time, that hasn't always worked out in regards to success on the field....my tactical play is often lacking and opportunities lost. Your team has done marvellously over the recent past, proving that tactics can quite easily overcome CSR....im often left feeling exasperated wondering how to set tactics with a CSR dominant team...both you and sparky have embarrassed me enough these last few seasons!
I have also updated my club lobby to include a news story on my cup success

so I surprised myself with an impulse buy this morning. was a good buy (less than $900k)....still increasing in CSR! Will fit nicely into my backline that has some of its stars on the decline...
15. Edelmiro Alvarez
32 y/o (R3, D3) | 387,918 CSR (+291) | $27,217 p.w. | 197cm | 96kg | Chile
gone are the days where my backline suffered in regards to technique and strength.
From 10 to 15, my strength average is 16.3 and technique is 15.1

Told ya Rob I know you better than you know yourself...
Now to buy another 3 players like that and you'll be unstoppable.

Re: Season 36 General Discussion
Hey sorry guys, I had my little spat and have seen the light - apologies to a few people including Sparky, Tryasta and Donkey. Rob to a lesser extent.
Came back from Fiji and realised - “no hurry, no worry” is my new life motto. “Fiji time” is a good time
Anyway, you may feel that nothing was needed to be said, that’s fine - I did.
I Am moving my IC team back to NZ next season and looking forward to joining back up with the NZ community again, participating and contributing.
Cheers
Chewy

I didn't expect an apology from you @Chewy . I feel flat-footed, to be honest.
I am looking forward to you keep proving me wrong in my expectations about you.

Tryasta sorry mate you took a lot of shit behind closed doors. Again sorry man.
I’m ready to finish off this season with hopefully some good cash and start S37 with a nice new fresh outlook.
And some silver ware at the end

@Chewy , I appreciate your message. I am ready to forget. I also see Booth and Palmer are starting to provide some added value to the team and that is great news for me.

They continue to surprise, especially Booth. Palmer is a tank and along with Ambler and Lyall are devasting all together. Booth and Towers are forming a formidable 2nd row, and now Heo is there also, the tall timber ranks are good.
